We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to speak with a genetic counselor via telephone.
What We Can Help You With
- Review your genetic test result
- What do the terms mean in your report?
- What does your specific test result mean for you and your family?
- Review the cancer history that directed your physician to recommend genetic testing for BRCA 1 and BRCA 2
- Review any additional family cancer history
- Suggest possible next steps that fit your unique situation such as,
- an in-person meeting with a genetic counselor for a comprehensive genetic risk assessment and counseling. How to find a genetic counselor near you
- appropriate options for cancer surveillance that you can discuss with your physician
- genetic testing for other family members
- tests for other genes that may better fit your family history
- periodic review of family cancer history or new genetic testing options
Please remember, these telephone consultations do not take the place of an in-person appointment with a genetic counselor. It is the discretion of the counselor you speak with to decide if a more in-depth, in-person appointment is indicated based upon your individual questions and needs.
